Dr. Pankaj Agarwal is a highly experienced neurologist with over 26 years of expertise, specializing in movement disorders and advanced neuro-modulation therapies such as Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS). He is widely recognized for treating complex neurological conditions, including Parkinson’s disease, essential tremor, dystonia, and other movement disorders.

He is among the few internationally fellowship-trained movement disorder specialists in India. Dr. Agarwal leads the highly acclaimed DBS program at Gleneagles Hospital Mumbai, where he has established comprehensive protocols for patient selection, intra-operative microelectrode recording (MER), and post-operative device programming.

With extensive experience in medical, surgical, and post-surgical management of DBS patients, he focuses on improving patient outcomes and quality of life through precise diagnosis and personalized treatment plans.

Dr. Agarwal is also a leading expert in Botulinum toxin (Botox) therapy for focal dystonia, with nearly two decades of experience, including EMG-guided injection techniques. He is actively involved in training neurologists and conducting national and international workshops.

His research interests include Parkinson’s disease, genetic and pathophysiological aspects of movement disorders, biomarkers, and functional neuroimaging. His work has been published in prestigious journals, including The Lancet Neurology.

He is an active member of international and national neurology organizations and contributes significantly to academic research, teaching, and the advancement of the movement disorder subspecialty in India.
