Dr. Asha Kishore is a highly experienced Neurologist and specialist in Parkinson’s disease and movement disorders, with more than 35 years of experience in clinical care, teaching, and research. She currently serves as the Director of the Parkinson’s & Movement Disorders Centre at Aster Kerala Cluster.
Her clinical expertise includes Parkinson’s disease, Parkinsonian syndromes, dystonia, tremor disorders, tics, and myoclonus. She has advanced experience in Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS), including patient selection, pre-operative assessment, Microelectrode Recording (MER)-guided procedures, and post-operative programming for Parkinson’s disease, dystonia, and essential tremor.
Previously, Dr. Asha Kishore served as Senior Professor of Neurology, Head of the Comprehensive Care Centre for Movement Disorders, and Director at Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute of Medical Sciences and Technology, Thiruvananthapuram. She also completed a two-year Clinical Research Fellowship in Movement Disorders at the University of British Columbia, Canada.
She has received specialized training in microelectrode-guided DBS and advanced movement disorder therapies in the USA and Canada. With over two decades of experience in Botulinum toxin therapy for focal dystonias, she combines extensive clinical expertise with international training and academic research experience in movement disorders.
