Dr. Akshay Shah is a highly experienced Consultant in Medical Oncology, Haemato-Oncology, and Stem Cell Transplants at Gleneagles Hospital, Parel, Mumbai, with over 14 years of clinical expertise. He completed his MBBS, DNB (General Medicine), and DNB (Medical Oncology and Hematology), along with a prestigious Fellowship in Stem Cell Transplant from Seattle Cancer Care Alliance and the University of Washington Medical College.
Dr. Shah has undergone over three years of intensive training in stem cell and bone marrow transplants, after which he began performing stem cell infusions and bone marrow harvests. During his residency, he also gained extensive experience in managing solid tumors, hematologic malignancies, and general hematology.
He has successfully assisted and performed over 130 transplants, and conducted 100+ bone marrow aspirations and biopsies, as well as procedures such as lumbar puncture, intrathecal injections, pleurodesis, and intraperitoneal injections.
